A Full Circle Moment

Sadly, last night, we had to say goodbye to our sweet Hankdog.

He was a good boy and our house feels a little less full without him. I thank you for all of your well wishes. I know most have experienced loving and losing a pet (part of your family).
But an interesting thing happened this morning. As neighbors found out we lost Hank, we learned they welcomed a new pup into their family. Just strange how an end and a beginning can happen on the same day.

And look what came over for a visit this morning...

That's our neighbor's new bundle of joy. He's a French Bulldog and too cute. And on a day when we're all still feeling very sad, it was wonderful to meet this fresh, little guy and welcome him to the neighborhood.

We had a moment together when he fell fast asleep right in my hand.

Here's to pets everywhere who bring love into our families.

I'm so sorry about Hank. And what a peculiar creature came visiting only to conk out in your hand!

We said goodbye to one of our own small friends in September, and I've never been able to find any shortcuts to feeling better. I'm not sure I'd want to, somehow.

We are the richer for sharing our lives with them. Godspeed, Hank.

What a sweet guy. There is just no replacing those special friends. We lost three of our four 18 year old cats this past year, and I totally understand the feeling of losing that link to your early, pre-child married life.

He sure was a lucky pooch!

Sorry to hear about Hankdog. Hoped somehow he would recover. I once had a dog who looked a lot like Hank. I am sure Hank had his own unique personality. Having seen him in a photo or two in past visits, I know I will miss him too. Thanks for sharing the photos and the event of Hank moving on to Dog Heaven. Bye Hank, it was nice meeting you and knowing you a little. Take care and God bless to Hank's family.

I'm so glad I got to see you last night and give you a hug!

And I'm glad you got some puppy love on Friday. Good people like you who have that special heart compartment reserved just for pooches, well, I think someday Hank will send you someone he approves of to love. Take care this week.

I'm so sorry, Jolie! There's no substitute for puppy love - I'm glad you had some to comfort you.

It was good to see you last night and to find out that you are an apostrophe to my comma! Happy times are coming your way.

I'm so sorry about Hank. It's so tough to say goodbye to a member of the family. We had to say goodbye to one of our Golden's on Saturday. I don't think there's a fast track to not missing them, and I sure do hope there's a special place that our beloved pets go to romp and play and spread their joy.

Congrats on your agent!!

Best,
Susan
