Monday Moment #112: a writing prompt for your-work-in-progress

Excuse me. I'm a bit grumpy at the moment. But we're friends. I can vent, right?

If you're a weekly reader, you know I wrote about my love of lists recently. And, oh my! My lists have been crucial lately. Life's been a wee bit busy. But it's all good.

However, sometimes I feel behind. Like today. It's already 4:30 and I have yet to post this Moment.

I was trying to be efficient earlier and think about what I wanted to tell you while I took my shower. It's usually a good place for me to think. Funny thing though, all that I could think to write about was pet peeves. And yet, nothing pet-peeve-ish has happened lately (at least not that I could recall). So what to write?

OR...

Perhaps I was having a psychic moment. Because something that really bugs me did happen today. Twice now!

Blog spam.

I hate blog spam. I dislike spam in general. But I really loath random messages left in the comments. Today I got comments from two different blogs (or sites), both contained the word "casino." Why? I don't get it.

One message read, "very strange."

You know, I agree. Not only is it strange, but it bugs me beyond buggy-ness. I suppose now that I used the word "casino" in a post I'm in for even more fun.

This just in: as I'm right now writing this post, a third "casino" comment has come in. Really!?! Peeved...big time. (If you feel like it, say a quick hello so I'm hearing from more than these casino people.)

What are some of your character's pet peeves?

Hello! I've received a strange comment from a casino-named spammer too. Got me really annoyed.

Comment spam stinks, but I get SO MUCH more spam in my email. It's ridiculous. More than 100 every single day. And lately, they're getting depressing--offers for "mature" singles. Who told them I'm old?

I haven't heard from any gambling establishments, but empathize nonetheless. Here's to a cleaner comment pool!

Hi, i just found your blog, and already I've discovered we have a pet peeve in common. :) You can tell a lot about people by what they hate, though, huh?
I got a spam comment once about how men should "boycot American women" because American women are evil and think we're so smart; ironically the comment was full of grammatical errors... :P
