I'm ready to Be More like Holly: to Be More Chill!
I'm this close to finishing my revision. I have some things to add. Some things to tweak. And I sure would like to nail the ending. Since my hubby was away last night...and I don't like to sleep alone...I slept with my manuscript. I know, I'm a total dork, but I hoped maybe something wonderful would seep in during the night. Perhaps!
But I'm ready to move onto some other things this summer: like a my WIP; playing with the girlies; a family trip; company; and the SCBWI Conference!
So my SRS goals for this week are slightly different. 1) The main goal will be to CHILL (while my critique group peeps read the whole manuscript). 2) And get moving again on my WIP (I miss that kid).
What are your goals this week?
I hate sleeping alone, too! Don't tell Neil but Winston was my sleep-over pal last night at Shangri-Lar. But I'm going to try that sleeping with the ms. thing!
My goal this week: 10,000 words.
I gotta do it!
I love sleeping alone. Probably from the years i had two rotties in the house. Then it was snoring, coughing, sputtering hsuband. I used to wake him up when he passed out on teh couch, now I leave him there so I can have the king all to myself. Lately though, the 4 year old has snuck in and you know they always sleep sideways...goals this week: write 3k words. I was going to revise as I go, but I'm thinking I may wait and just try to get my first draft complete.
We get the whole thing tonight??
Yay! Can't wait!
I prefer sleeping with furry friends. I know big shock. But Linus prefers the coolest spot, so he doesn't stay on the bed (or couch) long.
Sleeping with my manuscript... Hmm. Yeah, especially in the summer I get a little sweaty and move around a lot, so if my manuscript was there I'd roll over and in the morning probably be covered head-to-toe in a boy novel. Talk about osmosis.
I carry my editorial letter around in my pocketbook; does that count?? I also sleep with my computer under my bed--that's GOT to count, right??
My goal this week: I gotta go with Kirby--she's inspired me--10,000 words!

P.S. Can't wait to see you, Jolie!
I am almost constantly cold (even in summer), so I appreciate having a human foot heater in bed. My poor husband! He's put up with this for fourteen years now. :)
10,000 words! wow! Hmmm...grading essays, children at home, we'll see... I do promise to pull out my newly minted complete draft and get to work revising.
Hmmm, my manuscript is cold and sharp and kind of homeless, so I don't know if I would sleep with it, lol! And a big HIGH FIVE to you, Jolie! I can't wait!
My goal: Cross the finish line!
my goal this week is to finish my finished pencils.
for those of you who may not know, finished pencils are what you draw over when inking for black and white art (will receive color digitally after all b&w art is complete).
in our house there is one non negotiable rule: no dogs in the marriage bed. if i want to sleep with the dogs, i have to sleep on the couch. ouch.
I'm going to polish off a short story about inter-species friendship. But in the meantime, I've loved profiling our own SRSer, Benjamin James Watson (BJW) on my blog. Check him out- this dude's going places! http://amy-baskin.blogspot.com/2009/07/benjamin-james-watson-going-places.html
I sometimes fall asleep next to my laptop, if that counts! I've already typed 4k words this week, so I'd love to type an additional 2k by Friday. And do at least one artwork! Lagging behind a bit with art, once again. I've got some ideas I want to try out though.
Nothing wrong with sleeping with your manuscript! :-)
start revisions from agent. Ill see you in LA :P
thanks Amy, where I'm going could be up for debate...
I'd say you're headed to a pullitzer if you keep doing such good interviews.
