CYBILS!!!

Get thee to the CYBILS site!

Nominations opened up last night at midnight. Many of your favorite books may already be nominated. Really!

Awards, likes these, always remind me of HOW FAR I'M BEHIND ON READING!

Why fight it? I probably always will be.

But I had the HUGE pleasure of nominating two books I love...

THE SWEETHEART OF PROSPER COUNTY by Jill S. Alexander

and

LIPS TOUCH by Laini Taylor, illustrated by Jim Di Bartolo

Hi Jolie! Thank you for the nomination :-) I was delighted to see your name! Also, I LOVED The Sweetheart of Prosper County. Terrific book, and I met Jill at BEA and she was just lovely.

(I agree: seeing the lists of nominees is so overwhelming. So many books!)

OMG, Jolie! Thank you so much for the nomination. This means so much because I know how much you love to read and what a terrific writer you are. And Laini is simply amazing. Lips Touch is beautiful; Kizzy is now one of my all-time favorite characters. (Hey, Laini! More Kizzy please.)

Thanks for the nom!

You are both so welcome. It was such a treat to be able to do.

It was funny because the night before, during my critique group, we talked about both of your books (think you might have been the only two we talked about). One of the ladies said she was reading SWEETHEART and loving it, and I had recently finished the LIPS TOUCH arc and had it there for everyone to take a look at (I think they all wanted to sneak it in their bags) but we did discussed how many great openings and first lines are in the book, loving it.

And, Jill, I too am a huge Kizzy fan!

You are both amazing women, friends, and writers. xoxo

AHA, you're the one who nominated one of my YA fantasy picks! (The other was Janet Lee Carey's STEALING DEATH). Hooray for the Cybils!
