Books. People. Coffee.
Your suggestion is a timely one. I thought I almost lost the entire graphic novel again last night. It wouldn't save, and as I frantically tried to copy the text to email it to Jaime, and/or save it to a flash drive, the screen flickered and went dark. Needless to say, as soon as I recovered the file, I stayed up late to be sure ALL my files were backed up. I'm still shaky this morning, wondering how in the heck the villain from my story seems to have hijacked my laptop.A good reminder for us all, indeed!
Yikes, Sara! That can't happen again. Now, if I'd just take my own suggestion and get back mine up.
Good thinking! We back up onto Amazon's Elastic Cloud - it's awesome.
I always email my wip file to my webmail when I'm done work for the day. It's easy to let a few weeks pass without saving to the flashdrive (cuz it's never in the same place I am, it seems) but the daily emailing of my file is an easy & reassuring thing to do.
