Crack Your W-I-P: Ticker Tuesday

I wish that four leaf clover was a bit further along that it is, but I can turn my nose up at movement it's made this last week (a little over 4000 words). And even more than word-count movement, I did figure out some character "stuff" that matters. *smiles*

5,844 words! Wheeee.

So, I've just figured out something about these trackers (you might want to know, too). It updates all the embedded html, so I don't know what my number was last week (will now start typing it in as well).

Your progress has impressed me so far. You all ROCK! Feel free to tell me (and all the others checking in) how it's going and your goals for today.

I had a great morning. 1,700 words. :-)

Now to make breakfast and lunch for the girls!

How wonderful Martha!

So Jolie, how do we set up a ticker for removing the wrong words, rearranging the good ones, and all the thinking stuff?

On second thought, we'd all be exhausted by tracking everything. Maybe we just need to be sure and schedule days where we work, but don't count words.

I've hit 1,500 words and am trying for another 1,000.

I've been buried in paper grading, but I have been writing when I have a moment. I do need a clone.

I'm not counting words at the moment since I am revising. Hearing about everyone else gives me energy.
Onward.

Those tickers are too cute. I'm definitely going to have to check them out!!!

Congrats on your progress!

My own? Hmm...I think I need to get past, like, Chapter 5 so I don't feel the need to REVISE everything every.single.time. LOL.

Love your blog!

I hereby declare Martha a frickin' rockstar. That's right. 1700 words before feeding the girls breakfast is A-mazing! Like you.

Jane - Wouldn't it be nice if we could make the tickers say, "Hey, Jane, you rock out those revision you made today. That chapter is so much stronger now!" Alas, that's what we need each other for. So, I say...WAY TO GO, JANE!

Michele - We glady celebrate and cheer on revision. Revisions on top of paper grading...WOW.

Kristi - Ah, thanks! And chapter five won't go anywhere, keep moving. :)

Oh, forgot to mention that this is my slow-start day. I started with me putting on my wicked taskmaster (that's what someoen called me last week) hat in my bodystep class.

Do you know how much fun it would be if you could all come to my class? Then we'd grab a shower and after we'd take our laptops somewhere to order up coffee and cookies.

So, I will now crank out some words because the best word to describe my output yesterday is...

SUCK!

I will try not to suck today. :)

Thanks Jolie, I needed that! Hope your day is less sucky then yesterday. My afternoon has become quite suckish I must say...

Cuppa Jolie said...

It has been less sucky! Yay.

I cranked out about 900 words. I think it helps that I love the boy in my book. He's very cute and makes me feel all girly. :)

The only downside of starting work at 5? By 4 p.m., I'm exhausted.

I hope you all had great days. It's such an inspiration and motivation to know we're all struggling with the same things, having good days and bad, and just putting one word after another, every single day.

Onward!

Wow! You gals are inspiring. I was thrilled to hit a thousand last night, and I'll be thrilled if I hit it again tonight.

I shouldn't set word count goals when I'm revising. Next week, I'm going with pages. Counting words is too depressing on the days I end up in the negative.

Cuppa Jolie said...

Way to go, Myrna! You're right. Revision and adding word count doesn't necessarily mix. Sometimes word deletion is the goal and should be celebrated!

Those revising could still use a ticker, but name it - pages or chapters revised. :)
